10 Things Your Mom Never Told You
by Katherine Crofton / David Wolfe
She loves people and animals and seeing to their needs. She is amazing and I wouldn’t have her any other way.
My eight year old is a negotiator. He always wants to make his case for what he wants. But he is always quick to help with his younger cousins and is very creative and artistic.
There are many challenges that come with being a mother that no one knows until they enter motherhood. Here are a list of ten challenges that come with being a mother.
What are your challenges?
2. She wanted that last piece of pie.
Her happiness always comes second to yours, even if it means the last piece of pie.
3. It hurt.
Birthing, parenting, disciplining, tantrums, they all hurt. She just makes it seem like it doesn’t.
4. She was always afraid.
Your mother always wants to protect you from the outside world, yourself, and even herself. Her heart always skipped a beat at all your triumphs because she is the one who catches you if you fall and makes sure you are well.
5. She knows she’s not perfect.
Your mother knows she is not perfect but always tries to be. She wants to be the best mom for you, so she is always hard on herself.
6. She watched you as you slept.
Even when she is exhausted from a long day, your mother watches you sleep. Just seeing you so peaceful and cared for fills her heart with of love.
7. She carried you a lot longer than nine months.Even after birthing you, you mother carried you in sleep, though struggles, and with joy. You need her arms to feel safe and she freely gave them to you.
8. It broke her heart every time you cried.
Your tears shatter your mother’s heart. She will do anything to stop your crying and cry with you when tears are the only answer.
9. She put you first.
Your mother always puts you first. She goes without food, showers, sleep and free time to care for you to the best of her abilities. Then, the next day, she does it all again because she loves you.
10. She would do it all again.
Although being a mom is the hardest job she has ever had, she will do it all again because the joy and love you bring to her life outweighs the struggles. You are her greatest source of pride.
