New Moon & Your Astrology Forecast: Wipe The Slate Clean & Start Over
By Chris Flisher
We begin the week on Sunday with new Moon and Mercury stationing direct after its recent retrograde period. The coincidence of these events is opportune for all of us to rid ourselves of the pesky planet annoying tendencies and to revel in a period of new beginnings. As we know a new Moon is always a chance to start over and wipe the slate clean. It is particularly enlivening as we enter into spring. While we still are under the auspices of the retrograde shadow period which will last about another week we move on with revised plans and re-establish ourselves on solid footing.
As with all retrograde cycles we should look to this as an opportunity to reboot ourselves and get back on track. Despite all the public uproar about retrograde cycles they are actually effective times for taking a second look at things before we act. In this regard it can be quite helpful and even spare us from making hasty decisions. Later in the week we’ll see the Sun step into Taurus for its time of the year. A fixed earth sign, Taurus is the sign that rules money, luxury and primal urges and wit a spring thaw in the air we might all be in need of some primal activity.
While all of the aforementioned activity appears to be on the upswing we will also witness two planets making moves that may preview what we are about to endure. Saturn stations retrograde on April 17. It is an odd coincidence that Saturn will be in this position as we begin to see the underpinnings of what might be a rather jolting period of time on the horizon. On this same day we all must endure Tax Day in the United States.
Since Saturn is the great taskmaster, we might be inclined to tighten our belts and prepare ourselves for the coming years as the economy tilts into a troublesome period leading up to the 2020’s. History is a repetitive cycle and we are entering a time when the characteristics and markers are well placed for a time of correction. The lead-up to this period has been one of growth and stability largely due to policies put in place by former administrations. While the time has been one of expansion, we might now be facing a period where much of what has been abandoned now comes home to roost. Trade policies and tariffs are isolationist and in that regard we might find ourselves in just that position; isolated. Can we survive on our own in a market economy that requires the free and easy flow of products, goods, and services on a global stage? Or do we become the symbol of the child who leaves the playing field with his ball and leaves others to figure out a new way forward. The truth of the matter is that we may be on the losing end.
